YouTube featuring celebrities to launch 100 'TV channels'
Google's video site YouTube has plans to professionally produced 100 new TV channels to launch in collaboration with celebrities like Madonna and Ashton Kutcher.
The channels, each with 25 hours of programming a day, will be free, supported by Google ads system, the Daily Mail reports.
The move is designed to convert YouTube to rival cable and satellite TV channels.
YouTube is said to pay up to $ 100 million for producers to participate, and five million U.S. dollars per channel.
The money is an advance of money on advertising, Google will only regain its part to split the proceeds, the newspaper said.
Google refused financial details of the offer to offer, but said that most of the revenue goes to affiliates.
Othet participants are former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal, comedian Amy Poehler, Office star Rain Wilson, the spiritual physician Deepak Chopra and actress Sofia Vergara Modern Family.
